Second~Sight:Witche's Eyes

The Dream-Eye of the Sybil
Purposes & Potencies:
This construct marries the Old Craft herbal lore of Sybil Leek with the binding power of Germanic runes. It opens the Third Eye during sleep, drawing the Second Sight into the dreaming mind without allowing chaotic astral drift.
Requisites of the Craft
* A square of natural indigo or deep blue silk (the veil of night)
* Thread of pure silver or white flax
* The Triad of Dream-Herbs:
 * Mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris) – The premier herb of the lunar eye and lucid sight.
 * Wormwood (Artemisia absinthium) – To pierce the veil between mundane sleep and true prophecy.
 * Rowan leaves or wood shavings (Sorbus aucuparia) – For psychic protection while the soul wanders.
* A single dried Bay leaf (Laurus nobilis) – For the Apollonian gift of prophecy.
* Ink of oak gall or a red birch quill (to draw the sigil)
The Sigil Construct (The Runes of Sight)
On the bay leaf, draw the following bindrune combining three primary staves:
* Laguz (ᛗ): The deep tide of the subconscious and fluid intuition.
* Ansuz (ᚨ): Divine message, ancestral whisper, and true inspiration.
* Perthro (ᛈ): The cup of fate, revealing that which is hidden in the dark.
The Ritual of Binding
Perform this working at the turning of the midnight hour, when the moon is waxing or full.
* Lay the blue silk flat upon your altar.
* Place the Mugwort, Wormwood, and Rowan in the center of the fabric.
* Take the marked Bay leaf, hold it over the rising smoke of a frankincense or copal resin, and recite:
> By leaf of Bay and Artemis' bloom,
> I call the vision through the gloom.
> No phantom lies, no idle thought,
> But true Sight by the Old Ways brought.
>
* Place the Bay leaf atop the herb pile.
* Gather the four corners of the silk together to form a sachet.
* Wrap the silver thread around the neck of the sachet nine times, tying nine distinct knots. As each knot is drawn tight, chant:
> One for the Veil, Two for the Gate,
> Three for the Thread of woven Fate.
> Four for Laguz, deep and clear,
> Five for Ansuz, drawing near.
> Six for Perthro's secret cup,
> Seven to wake the Sight up.
> Eight to bind the vision true,
> Nine to pass the darkness through.
>
Application & Work
Place the pouch inside your pillowcase directly beneath where your head rests. Before sleep, quiet your mind, close your eyes, and visualize the bindrune glowing in pale blue fire behind your forehead.
Keep a journal and graphite pencil by your bedside; record every image immediately upon waking, before your feet touch the floor, as visions granted by Artemisia slip quickly back into the shadows of morning.
